I WILL Survive

I ought to be ashamed of myself. Actually, I am really quite embarrassed. Because, you see, I don't know all the words to "I will survive" by Gloria Gaynor.

I was in the car trying to sing along and it went a little something like this:

"First I was afraid, I was petrified. Dah dah dah dah dah dah dah by my side. hmmm hmm...I grew strong...dah dah dah dah dah...Go on now go. Walk out the door...Just turn around now...'cause you're not welcome anymore. Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye? dah dah dah dah...crumble...I WILL SURVIVE"

Just skipping words all over the place.

Of all the "break-up" and "I-will-get-through-this-difficult-time-in-my-life" songs I've accumulated in my noggin, you'd think this beauty of a "f--- you" anthem would have been one of them. But no. And I feel that I must do something about it.

So, like a fierce and determined 80s kid who kept rewinding the tape of her favorite song to make sure she wrote down all the lyrics (or what she thought were the lyrics), I will learn them. Ok, I just have to Google the song these days to get the lyrics, but I think you get what I'm saying.

I will make me proud.
