MINE!

I designed this scarf for a very nice woman who works in the cafeteria at my job. She is one of the sweetest people I know and my heart simply wanted to do something nice for her.

See, I've been slowly learning to speak Spanish and she, being from Peru, often helps me to learn words and phrases here and there. Even makes me order my food in Spanish so that I can get more practice with speaking.

She invited me to her home for Thanksgiving last year, since I don't have family in the area. When her family heard that I wanted to learn to speak Spanish, it seems that everyone had a lesson for me. It was awesome! I met some wonderful people and had an amazing time.

I've named this scarf "Mine!" because after I blocked it, I thought it was so pretty that I wanted to keep it. We've all done it...made a gift for someone and fell in love with it so much that we really didn't want to part with it. Oh, she'll still get it (I plan to deliver it to her on tomorrow). I'll just have to make another one for me.

The pattern for this scarf is currently in the "test knitting phase" and will be offered to you wonderful folks.

There. I think I've done a good job of distracting you from the fact that there are no pictures of a completed Valentine's day blanket for The Snookums. Let's not discuss it, mmmmkay?
