Murderer!!!

I was not one of those children who liked to cuddle with dolls while I slept.  As a matter of fact, if there was a doll anywhere near me at bedtime, I would sling its ass in the closet or cover it with something.  I didn't want it looking at me while I was sleeping.  A child has to protect herself.

In my eyes, all doll faces were creepy.  Especially the ones with the moving eyeballs.

I'd look at a doll with the most angelic face:

She doesn't look "stabby".

And see this:

He could take me in a fight.

Eventually, I managed to find a snuggling alternative; I'd use pillows instead.  There are no eyes to stare at you, no hands with which to stab you in your sleep.

I am 39 years old, still snuggle with pillows, and hope that that revelation doesn't make me sound too pathetic.  I've made another pillow from a sweater that I bought from the Goodwill.  I tried it out last night, and it works really well for snuggling.

And I'm still alive.

LOL! Thank goodness you found a suitable replacement for comfort, and that you can make it yourself is a bonus.

Another cute pillow, also a pillow cuddler. My guy has mentioned on too many occasions that I seem to have a love affair with my pillows. My mom still have a few of my sisters' dolls, none of mine, and so feel you on the doll issue...lol

My niece throws dolls out of her crib. You're not alone

My husband's mother and grandmother were doll collectors. We have already received a few for Rosina--luckily none of the super creepy porcelain kind yet, but it's only a matter of time. {shudder} They will be placed in a box facedown in the attic, with another heavy box on top of them.

Your niece is very smart.

Thank goodness, indeed! I'm on a quest to find a cashmere sweater to turn into a pillow. I want my head to rest in repurposed luxury lol.

I swear I don't know what happened to my dolls. I had a cabbage patch kid that I loved...until bedtime.
