HIV is Not Real

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

My cousin-who lives in Chicago- called me from a barbershop a couple of days ago to talk some sense into one of the barbers who works there. Apparently, he believes that there is no such thing as AIDS.

When I tried to tell him that it's real...that there are many people who have died- and are dying- from AIDS, he said, "My sister, do you really believe that? Have you really seen these people?" Said that the government is trying to scare us into believing that "this disease" exists. Says that AZT, the drug that helps to inhibit the replication of the virus, is not real. Also told me that, when polio was eradicated, the government needed another disease to "scare the people with", so they made up AIDS and HIV.

Huh? Fake HIV?

Then he told me that he was going to send me a video that is supposed to help support his theory. He sounds like a conspiracy theorist to me.

I don't really want to see this video (which is supposed to be filled with testimonials from scientists supporting the things he said). Well, actually I do. I am curious to see this nonsense.

I just really hope he uses protection.
