I finally chose a beautiful shawl pattern called "Drift" (This pattern also includes instructions for making a square baby blanket using the same stitch.).

Thanks much Nik. Got in on this just in the nick of time! Having problems being able to download the free Republic Scarf pattern. Something to do with my not being able to access the server. I'm such a non technical person. Droppedstitch2 on Ravelry. I knitted the hat a long time ago.
